Hot Water Beach
Rated one of the top ten beaches in the world, our Hot Water Beach boasts white sand, good surf, native bush, and of course New Zealand's famous natural thermal springs where you can dig your own hot pools on the beach. For a couple of hours either side of low tide simply dig your toes in the sand until you find a hot spot where the naturally-heated mineral water is flowing. Dig yourself a pool and relax. Any time of the year is great to visit Hot Water Beach. In the summer there are more people about, especially at Christmas, and the spectacular pohutukawa blossom is out in full bloom. When the tide is high and the hot spring is inaccessible, this is a good time to visit nearby Cathedral Cove. There is many other activities available in the area; sea kayaking, diving, bush and beach walking and horse trekking to name a few.
You'll find ample parking at the front of Moko Artspace, we are located at the beach front carpark at the end of the road.
You can check the low tides here.
There's great dining to be had at; Hot Waves Café, Hotties Eatery & FNC's Fish & Chips
Lots of local accommodation options; Te Puia Lodge, Auntie Dawns Place, Hot Water Beach Holiday Park, Orua Beach House & the Stone Terrace Guest House
